In order to keep ego's in check and to make sure you attend from start to stumps, running order will be decided for the duration of the tour by a "friendly" poker game held at the start of each night. The only guaranteed winner each night is the punter who gets to witness the delicate balance of urgent restraint & all out severity of Blacklevel Embassy, Cockfight Shootout's monolithic riffs, the dynamic frenzy of Kamikaze Trio and the thunderous cacophony that is Legends of Motorsport.

19 NOVEMBER 2004

DAYSEND'S 'Severance' has come thundering through American airwaves at tremendous speeds.  The American people have taken to our metal maestros like pumpkin pie and can't get enough of hearing Daysends debut Severance morning, lunch and supper time.  The overwhelming statistics from their label Metal Blade have shown that Daysend across all Campus and public Radio stations combined, came out # 2 most requested and played via the listeners & DJs of CMJ Loud Rock & CMJ Crucial Spins.  To round off their listening pleasure Severance was #3 most added on the play list FMQB's Metal Detector for all commercial, college and public radio.   To summarize, a massive metal achievement on the Aussie front and #1 only an apple pie away for Daysend.

HERE'S TO THE START OF SOMETHING BEAUTIFUL
The stunning debut album from TODD SPARROW will be released by Chatterbox Records in early September. This great band, which features Rob Gibson, Dave Trump, Nick Kennedy (Big Heavy Stuff, The Cops) and Elliot Fish (Big Heavy Stuff) is a hypnotic mix of fine crafted pop and rock tunes, and is a release that is not to be missed. Think Teenage Fanclub meets Fugazi.

COCKFIGHT SHOOTOUT
Take the dizzy buzz-guitars of Nirvana's 'Nevermind' mixed with the dirty petrol-vodka-gin fuelled riffs of Motorhead, amp it up and douse with gasoline, and you know what to now expect of Melbourne's COCKFIGHT SHOOTOUT. Make sure to check out the new EP 'Breed Until Broken' in September, when it's finally released.

19 JUNE 2004

TWO NEW ACTS FOR CHATTERBOX!
Chatterbox Records are very excited about two new acts that will be released by the label in the coming months. First up, is Melbourne's rather impressively named COCKFIGHT SHOOTOUT. Their dirty brand of turpentine-soaked riffs and nasty gutter grunge will arrive in August, when they unleash a brand new EP 'Breed Until Broken' (working title).

Then in September, Chatterbox will be releasing the debut album by Sydney band, TODD SPARROW. This is one album we are very exciting to be backing. Featuring Big Heavy Stuff's Nick Kennedy and Elliot Fish, alongside singer, Rob Gibson and Dave Trump, their forthcoming album, is nothing short of brilliant. Keep an eye out for 'Here's To The Start of Something Beautiful' in September. We couldn't agree more.

Don't forget to check out Byron Bay rockers, FORT, in July when they hit the road. Check out the TOUR section for all confirmed dates so far.

Also, on the road in July are EUPHONIC, who are joining up with The Pictures in Melbourne for a show at the Duke of Windsor, as well as heading over to Adelaide for their first visit.

The girls will be bringing their indie rock to shows on the Gold Coast, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth. They will be sharing the stage with fellow Australians Magic Dirt, Jet, Gerling and international artists Metallica, Muse, The Dandy Warhols and The Strokes.

Hot on the heels of their national tour with Strapping Young Lad, Sydney metallers Daysend have released their debut album 'Severance' out now on Chatterbox Records. Exploding on to the scene at the beginning of 2003, Daysend have been constantly touring nationally, building a great reputation as a strong live act and building a healthy fan base. 'Severance' contains 11 tracks of dominating riffs and slick melodies, and has been given praise by all forms of media. The track 'Countdown' has also been added to Triple J rotation. A big achievement for a local metal band. Produced by d.w Norton and Nik Tropiano, 'Severance' will not disappoint.

Skulker release a brand new single, 'In Your Arms', the second to be taken from their second album 'The Double Life'. The single will be released through Chatterbox Records on 13th October. The single features 3 previously unavailable b-sides, including a live studio performance of Madonna's 80s hit 'Material Girl'. It also includes live favourite 'Shayne' and a brand new track, 'The Weekend'. Skulker guitarist, Batti and the Hard-Ons' Ray Ahn, are responsible for the artwork.

FORT are the proud owners of one of the dirtiest rock n roll sounds in the Australia. Witness their power on the upcoming Grinspoon tour. Their world - sexual, alcohol-filled, and occasionally down right dirty! You'll find them guardians of the rock flame. It is shear brilliance to witness their psychedelic sex rock! No gimmicks, no postmodern guilt-trip bullshit, just heavy rock genius! Current single 'Deadweight' available now on Chatterbox Records/MGM

Previously referred to as an enigmatic and esoteric act, ALCHEMIST believes they have now written a record that is both relevant and sincere. Almost two years in the writing, Austral Alien was motivated by real topics the band feels strongly about. It offers a number of opinions without preaching or moralizing. The album symbolizes a reinvention for the band without compromising Alchemist®s organic sound, uniqueness or weighty approach. It signifies their perceived difference within the metal genre, their geographic isolation from their peers and their ambition to write passionate, original and thought provoking music throughout their almost fifteen years of existence. Austral Alien personifies Alchemist circa 2003. It is passionate and uniquely heavy music from a dissimilar group who perceive their home to be a magical source of inspiration. Out now!

Young and hot, THE WEEKEND recently completed their tour with label mates Skulker on the 22-date national 'Double Life' tour, presented by Triple J and Fly TV. Delivering a tight, hard "rock/pop noise", and lead by the lovely and talented Andrea Wass, The Weekend has already been wowing huge audiences with international opening slots for Green Day, Weezer and Dashboard Confessional. The tour coincides with the release of their new mini-album, "Kiss Kiss" out now on Chatterbox Records, with lead track "80s Rock Star" already receiving healthy airplay on Triple J.
